Just before the retreat I was totally depleted. The retreat was exactly what I needed. During the retreat I was emotionally, physically and spiritually fullfilled and renewed.
Spending time with like-minded people that really understand your carer roll was such a comfort.
I took away so many tools and strategies that will really help with my carer roll.
I am truely grateful for the experience.
I loved loved loved this amazing Zen Retreat that was organised by Claudia and Tracey. From the moment you walk in the door at Happy Buddha, you feel a calming sensation spread all over you. These two lovely ladies are so accommodating and empathetic towards everybody because they understand what we are all going through. Doing yoga again reminded me to breathe and to slow down. The activities that were organised were very enjoyable. They taught me all about self-care and that it’s okay to feel how I do sometimes. The people I met here are truly wonderful and I feel blessed to be part of this lovely Carers Community. I highly recommend Carer Escapes for all your Retreats. Thank you for everything guys ♥️
Carers Escapes (Claudia and her staff) have made a tremendous impact to the well-being of my mother and my family. I have also witnessed similar for other families caring for persons with complex needs. This organisation is authentic, professional and highly ethical. They have taught my mother and I alot about ourselves, the importance of connection outside of the caring arrangement, managing stress, emotions and anxiety and provide real practical and engaging solutions for doing so. I can't thank you enough Claudia for everything you have done.
Happy Buddha Retreat was designed well to support me learning more how to connect with others and live more positive thinking to overcome our challenges of life, and take care of myself better, enjoy Yoga, massage and the outdoor activities that brought me a new life.
Thanks so much Carer Escape program that makes me feel not left alone and behind.
My time away was the perfect retreat to give me headspace and refreshment. Claudia and her team did a great job at welcoming the group, acknowledging and respecting our different backgrounds and providing a variety of activities. One night away was all I could manage with a young family, but it was just right for our family circumstance in this season of life. I will be coming back again (and maybe bringing my hubby, he’d love to have a hit on the golf course).
This was so needed and a service I had never known about in my 39 years being in various caring roles. I understood that I was burning out but did not realise how much I needed to let go or perhaps accept and give space for some emotions. The connection with the other carers was assisted by great facilitators who created a schedule that was interesting, informative and allowed a great balance of free time and structure.
I have engaged with carer counselling, carer coaching and support groups in the past but do not think I have gained as much as this experience.
One valuable lesson I learned during the retreat is the importance of having harmony between my soul, mind, and body. I rediscovered my love for yoga, an activity I had neglected for a long time. Overcoming my initial anxiety, I realized that I can embrace these activities again, and they have brought me a renewed sense of balance. It has given me a fresh perspective on life.
