Carer Escapes collaborates with organisations across NSW to deliver tailored, restorative retreats for unpaid carers; an essential and often disadvantaged group that act as the backbone of our communities.
According to the National Carer Strategy 2024–2034, there are more than 3 million carers in Australia, providing vital support to family members or friends with disability, chronic illness, mental health conditions, or age-related needs. Despite their immense contribution, carers are often under-recognised, and many do not identify themselves as carers until they are in crisis.
The Strategy highlights the importance of supporting carers’ health, wellbeing, and social and economic participation, and calls for coordinated, accessible services that truly value carers’ expertise and lived experience.
Our retreats are designed to give carers a genuine break, opportunities for connection and support wellbeing. Below, you’ll find answers to common questions about how our retreats work and how your organisation can get involved.
